We are fortunate to have such a diverse cultural mix in Auckland.  All the better to participate in such rituals as the Chinese "creation of wealth (or abundance)" ceremony.  My good friend, Jean de Bruyne, of Malaysian Chinese heritage, has hosted such an event for her Kiwi friends and clients for several years.  This year we are again invited to join them.

This is a wonderful opportunity to take a few hours to focus on the New Year and what you wish to invite or achieve for the year.  This could be health, monetary wealth, friends, travel, wisdom, fabulous food (this last one is my idea!).  The ceremony is held in Jean's beautiful garden in Greenhithe.  We are welcomed with afternoon tea, then given the opportunity to create our own "wealth jar", and to focus on the year to come.  We will enjoy dinner which includes Chinese foods relevant to the New Year.  Our ceremony ends with watching the illumination of lanterns in the garden as darkness descends. 

The primary focus of the afternoon is to create your own personal "wealth jar", and there will be some items available for purchase to place in your jar.  You will need to bring the container you have selected as your "wealth jar" and items to place in the jar.  We can send you information to describe the process further, and to give you ideas as to what you might like to place in the jar. 

Cost of $68 includes special welcome and orientation from Jean, afternoon tea and dinner with some traditional Chinese foods.  Own transport is required.
