Chelsea Sugar Factory Tour
Conclude the year on a sweet note with a behind-the-scenes tour at the Chelsea Sugar Factory.
The Chelsea Sugar Factory is a well-known landmark in Birkenhead on Auckland’s North Shore. It started production in 1884 and has continued there ever since.
Chelsea produces 14 different sugar products: white, raw, caster, icing, soft brown, coffee crystals, demerara, organic, dark cane, golden syrup, treacle, maple flavoured syrup, honey flavoured maple syrup and blackstrap molasses.
Chelsea Sugar is about to offer factory tours to the public, which is the perfect opportunity for us to see how these products are made. We will be joining the public tour at 2pm on Tuesday, 11 December. The tour takes one hour and you are welcome to join us in the new Sugar at Chelsea Bay cafe (opening late October) for a cup of tea and sweet treat at the conclusion of the tour (own cost).
The tour costs $25pp adults and $20pp for seniors.
Please book directly on the Chelsea Sugar website: https://www.chelsea.co.nz/chelseabay/factory-tours/factory-tour/
Select Tuesday, 11 December on the calendar, and the 2pm tour time. (Public tours are not offered in the mornings.) Please arrive by 1:45pm for the tour.
Please let me know if you have booked so we can enjoy the tour together!
